hat is the area people consider as their living area; where they ride their bikes, see familiar faces, local products are purchased at small markets and stalls, and where children attend school.
We believe everything in this 2km-radius circle is related to yourself.
Organic garbage contains nutrition!
If we could recycle our waste 100%, our attitude would change to one of “appreciation”. Dirty garbage would become a treasure to communities. We wanted more people in Japan to have the opportunity to raise and consume delicious vegetables even in city centers.
This is the way we chose to create a nutrition cycle with garbage. It took us a long time to fully develop the idea of a food revolution, Local Food Cycling. To turn urban waste into delicious vegetables, we need a small and enjoyable cycling system.
Local Food Cycling is a food cycling system based on local house kitchens. There are 3 things we are aim for in this system.
First, to make a nutrition cycle originating with the compost.
Second, to build local communities every 2km-radius area where this activity is sustainable by the local people.
Third, to offer a cycling life that people enjoy and develop “power to live”.
We visualized the nutrition cycle and built an enjoyable and beneficial life cycle culminating in delicious vegetables and a circular economy employing young people.
It is a new solution scheme called “Community compost system”.
